unedited

I wear

a $150 watch on my left wrist
a gift to myself
for my 45th year of birth

$12 earrings in my ears a gift to myself
just now
tattoos

             I'll show them to you

rock your cradle
diamonds for gold

post all relationships ever
           different worlds

Greg Allman died
so did Adam West
I don't know where this is going
or for that matter
anything else

Over the Hill

Keep the lights low
it's better that way
you won't see

the bags
under my eyes
or the wrinkles
on the tops of my
inner thighs.

Keep the lights low
I'm  a hill
you haven't climbed.

My experience
your energy

Now we're both
over it.

You don't have to be a poet, you just have to want to be heard.

Manual typewriters in selected locations throughout the Erie area. Accepting typed poems from anyone willing to put their thoughts about what Erie means to them on paper. Poems will be published in "Know Yourself Erie." A book about Erie living by Erie residents.

Need manual typewriters, paper and fish bowls for completed poems.

Manual typewriters placed in various locations throughout the city for people to type a poem of their reflections of living in Erie. I hope to get some really strong feelings about poverty, unemployment, racism, sexism, LGBT issues, etc. and on the other side of the coin, the beauty of the seasons, the lake, the hills, the events, the Art culture, wineries, breweries, restaurants, etc. - the entire spectrum of life in Erie, PA.

Maya Said There’d Be Days Like This

Maya Said There’d Be Days Like This
(Elliot Rodgers and the Manosphere)

Maya said,
I've got diamonds
at the meeting of my thighs.

That doesn’t give you
mining rights.

Annihilate me

for rejecting you? You whom i don’t
know. But you don’t know

me.

You WANT to see broken
bowed heads and lowered eyes
and hear soulful cries. You got it
didn’t you?       But now you are gone.

Nothing to see here

is the response from the extreme men’s rights and their
longing to watch all the women of the world
starve to death in concentration camps,  claim they aren't

misogynist.

I wonder what the Nigerian girls

            kidnapped

by Boko Haram are thinking
they probably don’t even know
about this

              tragedy.

There are No Phones in Urns

It must have given you pleasure
to say Goodbye, after I told
you that I love you. It happened

so often.

Maybe, I thought, you never
heard me say it. But the stumble
of your tongue and your use of the word
"well" before "goodbye" makes me

sure you did.

Ringing - I still
am anxious over. Yet I still
         answer.

snippets from the stages of grieving

Anger: The Third Stage of Grief

Anger: The Third Stage of Grief

I sit alone. Finally

                                        a break in

my crazy, busy life.
The gift you gave me

by dying.                           Abruptly,

ending my attempts to
visit you before
                                          you die.
